Chairman of theVietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, who isalso Deputy Prime Minister, made the remarks during a working sessionwith Bishop Thomas Vu Dinh Hieu of the Bui Chu diocese in Nam Dinhprovince’s Xuan Truong district on November 10.

Chairman Nhan said he hopes the Bishop and the diocese’ dignitaries andfollowers will continue to uphold their achievements along withpromoting emulation campaigns to contribute to the target of nationaldevelopment.

The chairman also asked provincialauthorities and relevant agencies to provide more care for Catholics,especially in the areas of education and health care.

Visiting the Den Thanh Kien Lao parish in Xuan Truong district’s XuanTien commune, the Front chairman said he hopes solidarity betweenreligious and non-religious people in the area will be further promoted.

On this occasion, Chairman Nhan visited and presented giftsto the Thanh An Orphanage which is home to 130 people, with most ofthem being orphans, the disabled and the elderly.

He also worked with the provincial Committee for Catholic Solidarity on the same day.-VNA
