Free surgeries offered for cleft palate patients in Thua Thien-Hue

Sixty-two people with cleft palate in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and surrounding localities received free check-ups and surgeries from February 18-28.

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Sixty-two people with cleft palate in the central province of ThuaThien-Hue and surrounding localities received free check-ups and surgeries fromFebruary 18-28.

Volunteer doctorsand nurses from Germany's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery HumanitarianOrganisation (Interplast) and the Odonto-Stomatology Centre of Hue CentralHospital conducted the operations.

Director of theOdonto-Stomatology Centre Nguyen Hong Loi said the centre has worked with manyforeign doctors to offer free cleft palate surgeries, especially for children.

This was the fourthtime Interplast had come to the Hue Central Hospital. Along with providing medicinefor 62 patients, the organisation also shared experience with young doctors andnurses of the hospital.-VNA
