British football magazine FoutFourTwo has announced a new category -- Fan Favourite 2018 -- in its first Southeast Asian region’s football awards. The list of nominees features two Vietnamese players.

Hanoi (VNA) - British football magazine FoutFourTwo hasannounced a new category -- Fan Favourite 2018 -- in its first Southeast Asianregion’s football awards.

The list of nominees features two Vietnamese players -- midfielder Dinh ThanhTrung of Quang Nam FC, the current V.League champions, and midfielder Nguyen VanQuyet of Hanoi FC, a former V.League winner.

Both of them play for the national team and are captains of their club.

FourFourTwo’s website says Trung is a creative force in Vietnamesefootball, having led a less popular Quang Nam to their first ever V.Leaguevictory to earn himself the “Player of the Year” honour.

Trung is also one of the nominees in the Best ASEAN Player of the Yearcategory.

Quyet has been described by FourFourTwo as a key player of Hanoi FC,helping the team win two premier league trophies in 2013 and 2016. He representedhis country at the 2014 and 2016 Suzuki Cups.

He is the captain of the national football team and has recently denied anoffer from a club in Malaysia Super League for the coming season.

The Vietnamese duo will be against Thai quartet Teerasil Dangda, ChanathipSongkrasin, Jakkaphan Kaewprom and Theerathon Bunmathan, Aung Thu ofMyanmar, Andritany Ardhiyasa from Indonesia, Malaysian Safiq Rahimand Hassan Sunny of Singapore to claim the award.
