Forestry exports reach 5.3 billion USD in six months

Export revenue of forestry products hit over 5.3 billion USD in the first six months of 2020, up 2.7 percent over the same period last year, reported the Vietnam Administration of Forestry.

Hanoi (VNA) – Export revenue of forestry productshit over 5.3 billion USD in the first six months of 2020, up 2.7 percent overthe same period last year, reported the Vietnam Administration of Forestry.

The administration predicted that in the whole year, totalexports of the products will reach between 11.75 to 12 billion USD.

In the first half of this year, Vietnam imported 1.12billion US worth of wood and wood products, down 8.8 percent year on year. Theagency estimated the yearly figure at around 2.55 billion USD, the same as in2019.

In the first six months, 106,300 hectares of forest wereplanted, fulfilling 48.3 percent of the yearly target of 220,000 hectares./.

Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
