Foreign NGOs lauded for contributions to socio-economic development

Hanoi (VNA) – President of the VietnamUnion of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son lauded contributions offoreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to Vietnam’s development in 2023,at a meeting in Hanoi on December 26.

On behalf of Vietnamese beneficiaries, the officialthanked the organisations for their valuable support over the past time, singling out 35 with outstanding contributions to Vietnam in the year.

Son suggested the organisations continue with informationsharing in 2024, and work together with competent agencies in administrativereforms.

As the standing body of the Committee for ForeignNon-Governmental Organisation Affairs, VUFO has coordinated with ministries, agenciesand localities to facilitate the operations of the foreign NGOs, contributingto socio-economic development of localities in particular in the country ingeneral, he said.

Representatives from the foreign NGOs honoured at the meeting thanked theVUFO for its support, helping them implement projects in Vietnam effectively./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
