Foreign Ministry hosts 2020 International Food Festival
The 2020 International Food Festival, the eighth of its kind, was held in Hanoi on December 6, as one of cultural exchange, cuisine and fundraising activities hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship Year.

Hanoi (VNA) –🅠 The 2020 International Food Festival, the eighth of its kind, was heldin Hanoi on December 6, as one of cultural exchange, cuisine and fundraising activitieshosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN ChairmanshipYear.
The event was attendedby President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen PhuongNga, Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung, diplomats and their spouses, togetherwith representatives of international organisations across the country. Speaking at thefestival, Nguyen Nguyet Nga, spouse of Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh, underlined that the event offered chances to promoteculture and cuisine of countries as well as Vietnamese regions, and to support thedisadvantaged via a fundraising activity.

On showcase at 143pavilions were traditional dishes, local specialties, books, publications,souvenir and craft products of countries worldwide and Vietnamese regions.Traditional art programmes were also staged at the event. Main sponsors of thefood festival in the recent two years were honoured. Nearly 3.1 billion VND(133,700 USD) was raised in previous editions of the event, which was distributedto people with disabilities, orphans, poor women and those with extremelydifficult situations./.
The International Food Festival took place in Hanoi on December 8, featuring nearly 130 pavilions run by members of the ASEAN Community, international agencies, cultural centres and foreign relations departments of Vietnamese localities and businesses.
The role of women and gender equality-related issues will be discussed comprehensively for the first time at the ASEAN Women Leaders’ Summit held online on November 12, said Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga, Senior Advisor to the ASEAN 2020 National Secretariat and Vietnam’s representative at the ASEAN Women for Peace Registry (AWPR).
The World Police Band Concert - Vietnam 2025 is an important opportunity to enhance cultural and artistic exchanges and mutual understanding between Vietnam’s public security force and law enforcement agencies worldwide.
