Tokyo (VNA) – The FAVIJA Tokai Cup2019 for Vietnamese people living in Japan’s Tokai region took place in AichiPrefecture on May 12.

The event was held by the football associationof Vietnamese people in Japan (FAVIJA) under the sponsorship of the Embassy ofVietnam in Japan. It saw the participation of 32 teams, comprising mainly ofyoung trainees and students.

FC Shibata from Aichi Prefecture’s Nagoyacity triumphed at the football tournament, followed by FC 37 Nagoya and FCSuzuka. Individual titles were also presented to top goals and goalkeepers.

In addition to gathering together theVietnamese expat community, the tournament was designed to welcome Japan’s newera Reiwa, which began on May 1 with the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.Therefore, it also aimed to enhance the Vietnam-Japan traditional friendship.

Currently, more than 300,000 Vietnamesepeople are living, working, and studying in Japan. –VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
