Flash floods sweep away three in northern Lao Cai province

Flash floods in Hoang Lien National Park on August 12 swept away three people aged 18-36 in Sa Pa district of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, a local official said.

Lao Cai (VNA)💦 – Flash floods in Hoang Lien National Park on August 12 swept away threepeople aged 18-36 in Sa Pa district of the northern mountainous province of LaoCai, a local official said.

Vu Hung Dung,Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, said two bodies of Tan A Sinh,born in 1999, and Tan A Sinh, born in 1981, were found on August 13 and one,named Tan A Phong, remains missing.

Also on August 13, afive-year old girl was killed and her parents were slightly injured when theirhouse was buried by a landslide in Na Vai village, Ngan Son district, in the northernprovince of Bac Kan.
The family’sneighbours said that they heard a louse noise in the early morning hours whilethey were sleeping. The victims’ house was destroyed as stones buried it. DoanhThiem Phuong and his wife Do Thi Nga were saved but their daughter died.
Chu Thi Huyen,chairwoman of the Ngan Son district People’s Committee, said the district hadexperienced heavy rains during the past two days. Stream and river water rose,causing floods and landslides.

ꦏ Hanoi to roll out policies supporting green transport transition

Under the plan, from 2025 to 2026, the city will complete mechanisms and policies to support businesses in switching to green vehicles, expand the electric and green-energy bus network, and build charging stations. The targeted proportion of green buses is set at 10% in 2025 and 20–23% in 2026.
