Fifth Vietnam Book Day to display 50,000 titles

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 50,0000 book titles of various genres willbe introduced to readers at the fifth Vietnam Book Day 2018 which is scheduled inThong Nhat Park in Hanoi from April 18-22.

Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution under theMinistry of Information and Communication (MIC) and head of the organisingboard said on April 11.

Entitled“Books with Family”, the event is expected to draw the participation of nearly80 publishers and publishing companies showcasing their books at more than 100booths.

Nearly 20 events will be held in the framework of the book day, including theintroduction of the book “Industry 4.0 revolution, revolution of convergenceand saving”, talks on “Books-Culture, development and integration” and talks on“picture book markets in Vietnam and the Republic of Korea”, among others.

Other interesting activities will be organised at each booth like games,painting, puzzle and lucky draw.

The annual event aims to encourage and develop reading culture in thecommunity, while raising public awareness of the significance of books not onlyas a source of knowledge but also as a way to develop one’s though andpersonality.

To ensure the success of the book day, the MIC has ordered relevant ministries,branches, localities and organisations set up specific plans as well aspopularise the book day at libraries, schools and education and trainingcentres.-VNA
