Lam Dong (VNA) –ꦿAn exhibition displaying smart city products and solutions opened on December24 in Da Lat city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The event formed part ofactivities celebrating the city’s 125th establishment anniversary. It provides anopportunity for organisations, enterprises and individuals to meet, exchangeexperiences, introduce new technological solutions and promote the developmentof technological and communication applications to meet theprovince’s socio-economic development demands. There are 20 standsrepresenting domestic and international enterprises, and some of which exhibitIT products used to construct a smart city. The rest showcase advancements inhigh-tech agriculture and Da Lat’s representative food and agriculturalproducts. On the occasion, theprovince will pilot a Tourism Information Port, City Planning Information Port,Smart Lighting System and Public Wifi System as part of its plan to construct asmart city. The TourismInformation Port and smart tourism mobile application have been implemented in100 percent of tourism businesses within the province. The application willconnect tourists, locals, businesses and administrative organisations. Touristsonly need smartphones or internet-connected computers to conveniently searchfor information about tourism destinations, accommodations or recommendedrestaurants in Da Lat city. The City Planning InformationPort, launched by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, provides publicinformation about the city’s land use plans. The city has also completed theinstallation of a smart lighting system in Hoa Binh – Da Lat market andthe area around Ong Dao bridge and Lam Vien Square. The lights areintegrated with a free wifi system and security cameras. Aside from the smart city plan, the provincewill also push on with agricultural restructuring, forest management andprotection, and attracting investment into farm produce processing andenvironmentally-friendly manufacturing.–VNA

VietNEST (Vietnamese Nurturing Education for Science & Traditions) is a mobile app and digital platform for Vietnamese language learning among overseas children.
The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

According to Cushman & Wakefield’s latest Asia-Pacific Data Centre Investment Landscape report, Vietnam now ranks second in the region for data centre investment returns, with a yield on cost (YoC) of 17.5–18.8%, just behind Singapore’s 21–23%.
Vietnam is taking drastic yet cautious steps in building a culture of nuclear safety and security, with the aim of having its first nuclear power plant operational by the end of 2030 and using this specific energy source effectively and sustainably.

The visit aimed to assess the new two-tier local government model, preparations for upcoming Party congresses at levels, and implementation of the Politburo’s Conclusion on school construction in border areas.
Under the theme “Breakthrough Era with the Development of Industrial Internet”, the event gathered over 400 delegates, including senior officials, leading Internet experts, and technology engineers from Vietnam and abroad.
