Exhibition on general election opens in Hanoi

An exhibition displaying almost 200 photos, documents and items on previous elections opened in Hanoi on April 29 to welcome the upcoming election to the National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels.
An exhibition displaying almost 200 photos, documents and items onprevious elections opened in Hanoi on April 29 to welcome theupcoming election to the National Assembly and the People’s Council atall levels.

The exhibition was jointly held by the National Assembly Office and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Duc Kien, Vice Chairman of theNational Assembly and member of the Election Council, stressed thepolitical significance of the event, saying that it would helpVietnamese people to learn more about their glorious national history,the National Assembly and its role during the struggle for nationalliberation and reunification as well as the process of naturalconstruction and defence.

Through some documents,the exhibition affirmed the important role of the late President HoChi Minh in the success of the first general election for the 1 stNational Assembly.

It also introduced documentsabout completion of regulations for electing members of the NationalAssembly and the People’s Council at all levels in the tenure 2011-2016.

The exhibition will last until May 30./.
