The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a dispatch to heads of ministries, sectors as well as central agencies, organizations, provinces and centrally-run cities on the suspension of entertainment activities during the two-day national mourning for former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Do Muoi on October 6-7.

Hanoi (VNA)– The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a dispatch to heads ofministries, sectors as well as central agencies, organizations, provinces and centrally-runcities on the suspension of entertainment activities during the two-daynational mourning for former General Secretary of the Communist Party ofVietnam Central Committee Do Muoi on October 6-7.
Dispatch 4500/CD-BVHTTDLissued on October 4 asks State agencies across the country as well asrepresentative offices of Vietnam abroad to fly national flags at haft-mast inthe two days.
Delegations can payhomage to the former leader at National Funeral Hall, No. 5 Tran Thanh TongStreet, Hanoi, where he is laid in state, and Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi MinhCity. They are asked not to bring wreaths but mourning bands to the funeral.
The ministry alsorequested other ministries, sectors as well as central agencies, organisationsand State agencies to suspend celebrative events, art programmes, sportcompetitions and entertainment activities on October 6-7.
The People’s Committeesof provinces and centrally-run cities should direct and guide organisations,individuals and entertainment facilities to delay art and sport events as wellas entertainment activities in their localities during the two-daymourning.-VNA
