Embassies mark International Women’s Day in Thailand, Russia

The Vietnamese Embassies in Thailand and Russia on March 8 held ceremonies to mark International Women’s Day with the participation of the embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassies in Thailandand Russia on March 8 held ceremonies to mark International Women’s Day withthe participation of the embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community.

Addressing the event in Bangkok, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanhwished the female expatriates will continue to promote the fine tradition of Vietnamesewomen and enhance the solidarity within their committee in Thailand, andcontribute more to the development of Thailand as well as to the growth of the twocountries’ traditional friendship.  

The ceremony featured musical performances and poem recitations,among other activities.

Meanwhile, in Moscow, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi expressedhis best wishes to the group at the ceremony honouring their role.

Highlighting their important contributions in any positionand role, he recalled the work of Vietnamese women in Russia to help safely repatriateVietnamese trapped in conflict in eastern Ukraine and theirengagements in charity activities and contributions to Vietnam.

Khoi said the embassy always accompanies the Vietnamesecommunity in Russia with a hope that it will grow stronger and contribute more tothe homeland.

He wished that the overseas Vietnamese mothers and sisters willfurther educate their next generations about Vietnam and the Vietnameselanguage./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
