Eight Vietnamese banks announce POS link-up

Eight Vietnamese banks announced on September 28 that they have successfully linked up their point of sale (POS) systems.
Eight Vietnamese banks announced on September 28 that they have successfully linked up their point of sale (POS) systems.

The banks are Vietcombank, Agribank, Vietinbank, Bank for Investment andDevelopment of Vietnam (BIDV), Techcombank, VIB (Vietnam InternationalBank), SeaBank and Oceanbank.

Eximbank and Saigonbank are expected to connect with this POS system in the near future.

The banks said the service would create convenience for customers andcontribute to the development of non-cash payment tools in Vietnam.

At present, there are about 27 million cards with 11,000 ATMs and 42,000 POSs nationwide./.
