Eco-tourism, agro-tourism on show at HCM City design contest

Seven eco-tours and agro-tours in Ho Chi Minh City have won awards at a city contest on designing and operating eco-tours and agro-tours at a recent awards ceremony.

HCM City (VNA) - Seven eco-tours and agro-tours in Ho Chi Minh Cityhave won awards at a city contest on designing and operating eco-tours andagro-tours at a recent awards ceremony.

Saigontourist’s agro-tour to Cu Chi district and Vietravel’s eco-tour to CanGio district received awards in the category of exciting tour and distinctiveexploration.

The award in the category of experience travel and community-based tour wasgiven to the eco-tour on Thieng Lieng Island in Can Gio district developed by DiCho Biet JSC. 

The tour to attractions in District 9 developed by the ContinentalInternational Trading and Tourism Company received a prize for the category oflocal cultural preservation tour.

A tour to Can Gio mangrove forests operated by Dan Xay Mangrove Park took aprize for the category of nature preservation tour.

Awards in the category of potential tours were given to tours to visitattractions in Binh Chanh and Cu Chi districts by Greenfarm JSC and theInvestment and Trade Promotion Centre.

The city’s Department of Tourism will support exploration of these tours byintroducing them to travel firms and other localities.

The contest, which kicked off in May last year, attracted 54 tour productsubmissions.

It was organised by the city’s Department of Tourism in coordination with thecity’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tourism Association,and Farmers Association,

The contest is part of the city’s efforts to diversify tourism products andpromote eco-tourism and agro-tourism./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
