Dong Thap helps build school in Cambodia

A school built with funding from Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap was inaugurated on August 17 in Peam Ro district, Prey Veng province of Cambodia.

Construction of the Khmer-Vietnam Friendship primary school started in February at a cost of 145,000 USD.

Addressing the school’s inaugurating ceremony, Le Minh Hoan, Chairmanof Dong Thap provincial People’s Committee, said that the school is asymbol of the friendship between the two neighbouring provinces as wellas the two nations.

Chau Van Chi, Chairman of theOverseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia said in the long term, thefacility will be expanded to provide secondary education to meet thedemand of the local community in Prey Veng province.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
