Documents to be adopted at 44th, 45th ASEAN Summits discussed

Vientiane (VNA) – The 10th meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) for 2024 was held in Vientiane on October 6, under the chair of Ambassador Bovonthat Duangchack, Permanent Representative of Laos to ASEAN.

Participants included the permanent representatives of ASEAN member states, a representative from Timor-Leste as an observer, and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.

They discussed several key topics, with a particular focus on the preparation of key documents to be presented to ASEAN leaders for consideration and adoption during the upcoming 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, including the draft ASEAN-Canada Summit Declaration, the draft Statement of the 21st ASEAN-India Summit, the draft Statement of the ASEAN-China Dialogue, the draft Statement of the 25th ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit, and the draft Document for the 19th East Asia Summit.

🔴 Additionally, the meeting reviewed the progress of the ASEAN Community’s work, external cooperation efforts, and the overall preparation for the ASEAN Summits and related meetings, which are scheduled to take place from October 8-11 in Vientiane under the theme “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience”./.
