Khanh Hoa (VNA) – As part of Nui Chua National Park - a UNESCO-designated World Biosphere Reserve - Vinh Hy Bay in Vinh Hai commune in the south central province of Khanh Hoa is emerging as one of the hottest destinations for domestic and international tourists this summer.
Viewed from the scenic coastal road DT702, Vinh Hy Bay resembles a watercolour painting framed by rolling mountains and emerald water. Tour boats glide across the sea, leaving white foam trails that enhance the bay’s poetic charm. A highlight is the glass-bottom boat tour, where visitors can admire vibrant coral reefs through a five-metre-long transparent panel. The closely clustered, colourful corals create a mesmerising underwater kaleidoscope.
From the boat’s sides, visitors see dramatic coastal rock formations rising as natural sea walls, set against the vast ocean. Notable sights include Mui Ca Heo (Cape Dolphin), Hon Rua (Turtle Islet), and local fishermen harvesting seafood by traditional methods.
Tour guide Dinh Hoang Quan from Tan Thanh Travel Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City) said he has led many sightseeing and team-building trips here. The bay’s crystal-clear water and the glass-bottom boat ride offer fresh, exciting experiences. There are also many stunning photo spots, he said.
Mai Dinh Nguyen Vu, Director of Vinh Hy Bay Trading and Services Co., Ltd., said the area currently operates about 80 boats and canoes, including six glass-bottom boats, serving over 500 guests daily. Besides sightseeing and photography, visitors enjoy floating on open waters, walking on soft sandy beaches, fishing, night squid fishing, and tasting local seafood such as lobster, sea urchin, cobia, sweet snails, and limpets. Cultural exchanges with the fishing community add to the appeal.
Le Pham Minh Thu, a tourist from Dong Nai, recalled her family holiday. Thu said that she saw videos of Vinh Hy on TikTok and planned a family trip to the bay where they spent three days and two nights. The fresh, varied food, fun activities, and clean accommodation made it a wonderful trip, she said.
Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, noted Vinh Hy Bay’s status as a national scenic site and one of Vietnam’s most beautiful bays. To preserve and promote it, local authorities have urged improved tourism management and environmentally responsible operations by service providers, businesses, and residents, supporting sustainable development.
Visitors can also join eco-tourism and adventure tours organised by the Nui Chua National Park and local operators. Popular routes include Lo O Stream – Da Do (Red Rock) Peak, Hang Rock – Five-Tier Waterfall, Hanging Lake – Da Vach Cape, trekking Mount Nui Chua, Binh Tien Freshwater Stream, Hom Beach – Rai Cave – Rock Park, and Thai An grape village.
