Speaking at the ceremony, Phan Chanh Duong,Director of the Lawrence S. Ting Fund, said the organisation has handed overnearly 19,500 wheelchairs to disabled people nationwide.
This is the fourth time it has sentwheelchairs to people in Quang Binh, bringing the total number of wheelchairs givento the province to 700, he added.
Nguyen Tien Hoang, Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee, voiced his hope that the organisation willcontinue to support disadvantaged people of Vietnam and Quang Binh province inparticular.-VNA
The Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund on August 11 presented 110 wheelchairs worth 183 million VND (8,470 USD) to people with disabilities in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The Lawrence S.Ting Community Support Fund presented 140 wheelchairs worth 231 million VND (10,500 USD) to the Bac Kan Association for Support to the People with Disabilities and Orphans on October 21
