Hanoi (VNA)🐼 – The Prime Minister’s decisions onestablishing the Directorate for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control andthe Water Resources Directorate were announced in Hanoi on August 16.

Under the decision, the two directorates are under thedirect management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). The decision will take effect on August 18. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen XuanCuong has appointed Nguyen Xuan Tinh as General Director of the Water ResourcesDirectorate and Tran Quang Hoai as General Director of the Directorate forNatural Disaster Prevention and Control. The two agencies will advise and assist the Minister of Agricultureand Rural Development in exercising State management of and organising lawenforcement in the fields of irrigation; clean water supply for rural area;natural disaster prevention and control and dyke management. The agencies will also organise the supply of publicservices in fields under their State management in line with the law.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
