Deputy PM requests dealing with medical incident in Hoa Binh
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has requested mobilising all available resources to save 11 kidney patients who are receiving dialysis at the hospitals.
Hoa Binh (VNA) – Deputy PrimeMinister Vu Duc Dam has requested the Ministry of Health, the Department ofHealth and General Hospital of Hoa Binh province and Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospitalto mobilise all available resources to save 11 kidney patients who arereceiving dialysis at the hospitals.
Earlier, seven other patients died on May 29with suspected anaphylactic shock while receiving treatment at the GeneralHospital of Hoa Binh province.
Dam immediately came to the northernprovince of Hoa Binh to extend his sympathy to families of the dead and visitpatients undergoing treatment.
Once the deaths were reported, theprovincial General Hospital turned off its dialysis machines and transferredthe living patients to Hoa Binh city’s General Hospital and Hanoi-based BachMai hospital for emergency treatment.
Luong Ngoc Khue, head of the HealthMinistry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department, led a working group toHoa Binh the same day to deal with the incident.

During a working session with leaders of theprovincial Health Department, Dam asked them to collaborate with the workinggroup to detect the incident’s cause and clarify the responsibilities ofindividuals and units concerned.

Many patients with severe kidney disease living in cities in the south often have to travel to HCM City for medical treatment, but with another kind of dialysis method now available in Vietnam.
