Deputy PM receives Governor of Japan’s Aichi prefecture

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong DinhHue welcomed cooperation and investment proposals by Japan’s Aichi prefecturewhile meeting with its Governor Omura Hideaki in Hanoi on September 12.

At the reception, both host and guest expressedtheir delight at the two countries’ growing relations in politics, economy andpeople-to-people exchange.

Voicing his hope for more flights linking Aichiwith Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other cities of Vietnam, Governor Omura saidduring this trip, his delegation had working sessions on this issue withVietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, and they received positive outcomes.

Besides, Aichi businesses wish to invest in anew expressway connecting HCM City with the future Long Thanh airport in nearbyDong Nai province, he noted, adding that they hope this project will become anew symbol in the Japan-Vietnam relationship.

Applauding the prefecture’s cooperation andinvestment proposals, Deputy PM Hue said the Vietnamese Government is promotingthe Long Thanh airport project, and an expressway project linking HCM City withthis airport will be important to addressing traffic congestion and boostingeconomic connectivity.

He noted that he hopes the best businesses ofAichi will take part in investing in this project in Vietnam.

With a population of 7.5 million, Aichi is aneconomic and industrial hub in the central region of Japan. It has a GDP ofsome 330 billion USD and is famous for auto manufacturing, Shinkansenhigh-speed trains and aerospace industry. 

There are about 32,000 Vietnamese people in thisprefecture./.
