Da Nang to host 2010 Int’l fireworks competition

The central city of Da Nang will host the 2010 International Fireworks Competition, which will take place on March 27 and 28 next year.

This will be the third time that the city has hosted such event.

The 2010 event will be held under the theme the “Legend of Han River”with the participation of teams from the US , Japan , France , Portugaland the host Da Nang .

In addition to fireworks display, spectators will have a chance to enjoy music and dance performances and lantern floats.

The municipal People’s Committee said that the city will build a grandstand with a capacity of 30,000 people to serve local people andvisitors.

Global 2000 of Malaysia has signed a contract worth 465,000 USD to make preparations for the competition.

In the 2009 International Firework Competition, the first prize went tothe Chinese team. The Australian team won the second prize while thePhilippine team shared the consolation prize with the host team.

During the 2009 International Firework Competition, Da Nang received60,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
