Da Nang takes advantage of APEC week to promote tourism
The central city of Da Nang, which will host the APEC Economic Leaders Week in November, is planning to organise a wide range of programmes to promote its tourism potentials.

Differenttours have been designed to serve APEC delegates and international journalists.The tours connect local renowned destinations, including Ngu Hanh Son mountain,Museum of Cham Sculpture, Son Tra peninsula, Ba Na Hills and HanRiver.
Regionaltours are also offered, connecting Da Nang with neighbouring localities, suchas Hoi An ancient city - a UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site - inQuang Nam province and the former imperial capital of Hue in Thua Thien-Hueprovince.
Themunicipal Department of Tourism asked local hotels which accommodate a largenumber of delegates to connect with travel agencies to offer tour bookingservices right at the hotels.
DeputyDirector of the Tourism Department Tran Chi Cuong said numerous activities havebeen carried out to promote the city’s tourism before, during and after theAPEC Economic Leaders Week, including tourism investment promotion conferences,workshops, exhibitions of food, photos and souvenirs, among others.
Shortvideo clips featuring Da Nang are screened at LED monitors along the city’sstreets, while its tourism information is also available at the Da Nanginternational airport.
Inaddition, the Tourism Department has contacted several international TVchannels such as Discovery to help the city popularize its tourism during theupcoming event.-VNA

By source market, China continued to lead with 3.1 million visitors, equivalent to 25.5% of all foreign arrivals. The Republic of Korea followed with 2.5 million, or 20.7%. Other major markets included Taiwan (China) with 737,000, the US with 522,000, and Japan with 380,000.
