Da Nang,November 5 (VNA) – People in the central coastal city of Da Nang are proud ofbeing the host of the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, slated for November6-11.

“I am very proud when Da Nang is hosting the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Weekand will try my best to contribute to the success of the event”. Huynh Thi HongVan, a fourth year student from Da Nang’s Duy Tan University said.

Van, a volunteer at the Da Nang international airport, told a Vietnam NewsAgency reporter on November 5 that her duty is arranging transport vehicles forAPEC delegates.

“I attended training classes organised by the municipal External AffairsRelations in order to have the best knowledge on what to do when the delegatesarrive,” Van said.
Ho Thi Thu Hong of the Da Nang University, who used to work as a volunteer atseveral previous important events, said it is her honour to serve the APEC Week.
With carefulpreparations and training, she is confident that she will well perform hertasks at the APEC 2017 National Committee’s Culture-Information Sub-Committee.
For NguyenDuc Huy from Duc Phu Limited Company, who is in charge of car arrangement for APECBusiness Advisory Council (ABAC) delegates, this is a challenge but a goodchance for him to improve his working skills.

Ho Dac Hiep of Duc Phu Company revealed that as a tour driver, he has made greatefforts to improve his English and other skills to offer the best services totourists, contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang, the most worth-livingcity in Vietnam.

The APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week is expected to draw about 10,000delegates from the 21 APEC economies. 

Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) groups Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China),Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, PapuaNew Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand,the US, and Vietnam.

It represents about 39 percent of the world’s population andcontributes 57 percent to global GDP and 49 percent of international trade.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
