Da Nang: media centre ready for APEC High-level Week

The Da Nang Expo Centre has been turned into an international media centre serving the APEC High-level Week scheduled for November 6-11 in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

Da Nang (VNA) – The Da Nang Expo Centre has been turned into an​International ​Media ​Centre serving the APEC High-level Week scheduled forNovember 6-11 in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

The renovation was made to the 13,500 sq.m main block and 131,000 sq.m of thelandscape and technical infrastructure outside. Air conditioner, elevator, firefighter and information technology systems and cameras have been installed as well.

Meanwhile, the capacity of power transform stations has been raised from 1,000kVA to 1,600 kVA.

After the upgrade, which cost nearly 179 billion VND (7.8 million USD), theInternational Media Centre includes reception hall, security room, health careroom, card issuing room, pool pass waiting room, booths for rent and othersupport facilities.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting is expected to welcome leaders from 21member economies and around 10,000 local and international delegates.

Established in 1989,APEC comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China,Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, NewZealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, ChineseTaiwan, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.
