Da Nang hosts int’l conference on information technology

A two-day international conference on information science and technology opened in central Da Nang city on April 17.

Da Nang (VNA) – Atwo-day international conference on information science and technology openedin central Da Nang city on April 17.

Co-held by the Da Nang-based Vietnam-KoreaFriendship Information Technology College and China’s City University of HongKong, the event aims to seek initiatives and new applications in the IT sector. 

More than 80 reports, including 50 by foreignscientists, were delivered at the conference. 

The reports focused on computer science, controland automation, data processing and telecoms and brain computer interfaces,among others. 

According to Hoang Bao Hung, headmaster of the Vietnam-KoreaFriendship Information Technology College, the event is one of major scienceand technology activities of the college. 

It helped improve capacity of the college’slecturers and staff while opening up opportunities for Vietnamese and foreignIT scientists to exchange ideas and experiences, he added. - VNA

⛄ Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

🗹 PM chairs national committee's meeting on semiconductor development

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
