Da Nang attracts data centre project worth 100 million USD

A cooperation agreement was signed on the investment of a data centre worth about 100 million USD in the central city of Da Nang, during a virtual ceremony held on November 23.

Da Nang (VNA) – A cooperation agreement was signed on the investment of a data centreworth about 100 million USD in the central city of Da Nang, during a virtual ceremonyheld on November 23.

The centre will bejointly invested by the Da Nang IT Park Development Company and InfracrowdCapital of Singapore.

Speaking at the event, Founderand CEO/ Managing Director of Infracrowd Capital said the Da Nang IT ParkDevelopment will become its comprehensive strategic partner in the development ofgreen data centres and sustainable infrastructure in Vietnam.

This opens up chancesfor Da Nang to realise the target of turning itself into a smart city throughspeeding up e-Government services and digital economy development, includingartificial intelligence application, by 2030.

Also at the event, TrungnamElectronics Manufacturing Services and Xelex Technology Company sealed a dealon the manufacturing of 100,000 tablets which help students study online.

As of October 2021, DaNang had more than 900 valid foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with acombined registered capital of over 3.8 billion USD.

Of them, there are 140 informationtechnology projects capitalised at nearly 50 million USD. The IT sector will continue to havean important role to play in FDI attraction of the city./.
