Da Nang announces souvenirs, gifts for APEC 2017

The Department of Industry and Trade of central Da Nang city will present awards for 20 products in a competition on souvenirs and gifts for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2017 .

Da Nang (VNA) – The Department of Industry and Trade of central Da Nang city willpresent awards for 20 products in a competition on souvenirs and gifts for theAsia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2017 during a meeting on June 1.

Since itslaunch five months ago, the organising board has received 171 entries from 46individuals and 31 units from eight cities and provinces nationwide, including28 concepts and 143 end-products.

Among the 20winning products, first prize went to a set of ceramic vases by Bo Trai ceramicmanufacturing and trade company based in Bat Trang ceramic village, theoutlying district of Gia Lam.

The othersinclude two second prizes, five third prizes and 12 consolation prizes.

Vietnam thisyear’s host of the APEC Forum, during which, Da Nang city will host APECHigh-Level Week 2017, affording the city a chance to popularise its image abroad.

Da Nang isworking to upgrade infrastructure, transport, lodging facilities and servicesfor the event.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
