Da Nang aims to become growth engine of Vietnam in new tenure

According to Decision No. 2346-QD/TW, dated September 15, 2025, the Da Nang Party Committee for the new term consists of 75 members, including 73 re-elected members. The Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term was appointed as the Secretary of the municipal Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Da Nang (VNA) – The first Party Congress of Da Nang city for the 2025-2030 term opened on September 17, with the participation of 450 official delegates representing over 139,500 Party members of the municipal Party organisation.

Addressing the event, Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested Da Nang to strive to become a centre of science and technology, international transportation, tourism services, and finance technology, with developed transportation infrastructure to compete with major and modern cities in the region and the world.

The city should continuously improve living standards, with all efforts focusing on ensuring a prosperous and happy life for its citizens, Tu noted.

He urged the city Party organisation to continue making bold reforms in its leadership methods, with a strong commitment to effectively implementing the Party Central Committee's resolutions on Party building and rectification, as well as the Politburo's directive on promoting the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style.

Da Nang should improve its investment environment, enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the economy, and promote the development of the private sector. It must attract both domestic and foreign businesses to invest in the city's priority industries. Furthermore, Da Nang should continue to implement social welfare policies, ensure sustainable poverty reduction, guarantee social justice, and create employment opportunities, he said.

At the congress, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, highlighted that the city aims to build a clean and strong Party organisation, develop it into a modern city, and a pioneer in science, technology, startups, innovation, and digital transformation.

The city plans to implement new economic models, such as the International Financial Centre, establish a Free Trade Zone, and become a growth engine for Vietnam as the country enters a new era of development.

In the morning session of September 17, the congress announced the Party Central Committee’s decision on the appointment of the Party Committee, its Standing Board, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and the Inspection Board for the 2025–2030 term.
