Cultural industry to contribute 10% of Hanoi’s GRDP by 2045
Hanoi aims to earn increasing revenue from cultural business, which are expected to contribute around 10% of the city’s Gross Regional Domestic Products (GRDP) by 2045, according to a plan newly introduced by the municipal People’s Committee.

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi aims to earn increasingrevenue from cultural business, which are expected to contribute around 10% ofthe city’s Gross Regional Domestic Products (GRDP) by 2045, according to a plannewly introduced by the municipal People’s Committee.
The city plans to raise the cultural industry’s contributionto GRDP to 5% by 2025 and 8% by 2030.
From now to 2025, Hanoi will focus its efforts on boosting anumber of cultural industries in line with local advantages and potential, including cultural tourism,handicraft, performing arts, cinema, designing, culinary, entertainment softwareand games, advertising, architecture, photography and exhibition, fashion,television and radio and publishing.

By the end of this decade, the capital also sets to turn thecultural industry into a key economic sector driving the others’ growth. Thiswill lay foundation for the capital city to improve local living standards;sustainably, harmoniously and comprehensively boost the economic, cultural andsocial development; turn itself into a globally-connected, civilized, modern andcreative city by 2045.
The municipal People’s Committee has asked its departmentsand units to raise awareness of the cultural industry among their staff, buildsupport policies and mobilise resources, and expand international cooperationfor achieving the goal./.
The traditional culture, including folklore, is a valuable resource for the development of the cultural industry if it is carefully exploited, according to experts.
The development of the cultural industry is expected to contribute about 8% of the capital’s GDP by 2030. To achieve this goal, the Hanoi Party Committee will develop a creative ecosystem.
