Cultural exchange marks anniversary of Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka

An exchange to introduce traditions and culture of Vietnam has been held in Fukuoka city of Japan as part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnamese Consulate General in the city.

Tokyo (VNA) – An exchange to introduce traditions and culture of Vietnam has been heldin Fukuoka city of Japan as part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of theVietnamese Consulate General in the city.

More than 100 delegates gathered together at the event which lasts from August31 to September 2 to enjoy Vietnamese tea and coffee, and learn about traditionalmusical instruments and art genres of the Southeast Asian nation.

The exchange also included an Ao dai (long dress) show and an exhibition featuringphotos, ceramic products, and documents on Vietnam and cooperation activitiesbetween Vietnam and Kyushu area of Japan.

The number of Vietnamese people in Fukuoka has increased to 14,000 from only660 in 2009. The establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General hascontributed to further strengthening the Vietnam-Japan friendship andsolidarity. - VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
