Criminal proceedings against former Public Security officers

The Ministry of Public Security announced on December 14 that its Investigation Police Agency has launched criminal proceedings against former General Director Tran Viet Tan and former Director Bui Van Thanh at the ministry.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheMinistry of Public Security announced on December 14 that its InvestigationPolice Agency has launched criminal proceedings against former General DirectorTran Viet Tan and former Director Bui Van Thanh at the ministry.

They were prosecuted and bannedfrom leaving their places of residence for “showing irresponsibility, causingserious consequences” in line with Article 285 of the 1999 Criminal Code.

Their wrongdoings were discoveredduring the investigation into the case of “abusing position and power whileperforming duties” involving Phan Van Anh Vu and accomplices.

Earlier, the Prime Ministersigned a decision dismissing Tan from his post as Deputy Minister of PublicSecurity for the 2011-2016 tenure because of his serious violations andshortcomings in the workplace.

Thanh was also stripped of histitle as Deputy Minister of Public Security for the same reason.–VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
