CPV delegation on African tour

A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) recently visited Mozambique to attend a ceremony marking the 50 th anniversary of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO).

At the ceremony, Mozambican President and President of FRELIMO ArmandoGuebuza applauded the presence of 12 fraternal parties, which, he said,reflects their friendship and solidarity with the Party, Government andpeople of Mozambique .

On speaking at theevent, the head of the Vietnamese delegation and Secretary of the PartyCommittee in northern Ninh Binh province, Bui Van Nam, congratulatedFRELIMO and the Mozambican people on the successes they have recordedduring their struggle for independence, peace, development andprosperity over the past half a century.

He statedthat Vietnam is keen to expand mutually beneficial ties withMozambique , which contributes to peace, cooperation and development.

During their stay in Mozambique , the CPVdelegation met with Prime Minister Aires Ali and leading FRELIMOofficials to discuss measures to strengthen the traditional friendshipand cooperation between both Parties and States.

The Mozambican leaders praised the success of Movitel, a joint venturebetween Vietnam ’s military telecommunications corporation Vietteland a Mozambican partner. It is expected that more Vietnamese businesseswill invest in Mozambique in the future.

After concluding their visit to Mozambique , the Vietnamese delegationtravelled to Angola , where they met with Afonso Van-Dunem Mbinda,Secretary of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA)Central Committee for External Affairs.

Afonsosaid that the MPLA is interested in learning from Vietnam ’sexperiences as it is carrying out a policy of encouraging nationalaccord to ensure a peaceful, united and stable country. He added thathis party will send a senior level delegation to Vietnam later thisyear.-VNA
