CPV Central Committee Secretary visits Japan

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, is on a working visit to Japan from December 24-28.

Tokyo, (VNA) –A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, is on aworking visit to Japan from December 24-28.

While in Japan, Thang, who is also in charge of the CPV Central Committee’s TheoreticalCouncil and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, had aworking session with Chairman of the Presidium of the Communist Party of Japan(CPJ) Kazuo Shii.

Host and guest informed each other about the situation of their respective partiesand countries, and discussed regional and international issues of sharedconcern as well as strategies of international relations in the recent times.

They also talked measures to enhance cooperation between the CPV and the CPJ inthe time ahead, focusing on theoretical issues.

Thang also met with Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, Special Advisor tothe Japanese Prime Minister Kentaro Sonoura, Minister in charge ofAdministrative Reform Hiroshi Kajiyama and State Minister for Foreign AffairsKazuyuki Nakane.

They looked into measures to promote the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategicpartnership, looking towards the 45th anniversary of diplomatic tiesbetween the two countries (1973-2018).

The Vietnamese Party official also had meetings with President of Japan’sPolicy Research Institute Akihiko Tanaka and leaders of the Japan InternationalCooperation Agency (JICA), during which the two sides sought ways to intensifyand improve the efficiency of cooperation in human resources training anddevelopment, meeting Vietnam’s demands in the new period.-VNA
