Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded 2,949 newcases of COVID-19 on October 10, a drop of 678 cases compared to the previousday, according to the Ministry of Health.
Among these new cases, 10 were imported.
HCM City recorded the highest number ofinfections with 1,018, followed by neighbouring Dong Nai province with 501 andBinh Duong province with 447.
The national tally now stands at 846,230.
According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 4,299 patientsnationwide are in serious conditions, with 546 requiring invasiveventilation and 19 on life support (ECMO).
On the day, the country saw 93 deaths from thedisease. The death toll now hits 20,763 .

Some 30,000 aid packages, worth nearly 15 billion VND (658,690 USD), were delivered to people struggling amid COVID-19 in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang during an event held in Chau Thanh district on October 12.
