COVID-19: Israeli Embassy donates rice to Hanoi

The Embassy of Israel in Vietnam donated one tonne of rice on April 24 to the first “rice ATM” set up in Hanoi’s Cau Giay district to support people affected by COVID-19.

Hanoi (VNA) -
The Embassy of Israel in Vietnam donated onetonne of rice on April 24 to the first “rice ATM” set up in Hanoi’s Cau Giaydistrict to support people affected by COVID-19.

This is the first rice donation from a foreign diplomatic agency in Vietnamto those affected by the pandemic and reflects Israel’s multi-year commitmentto helping those in need in Vietnam through formal and voluntary projects.

Ambassador Nadav Eshcar said providing the rice is an opportunity forIsrael to "give something better" to the Vietnamese community.

He thanked Vietnam for helping embassy staff and his family live in asafe environment in Hanoi.

The country’s response to COVID-19, he went on, has been exemplary.

He hailed the prompt response of the Government and the co✱nsensus ofpeople nationwide to beat 🦄the virus, which saw Vietnam post a lower number ofinfections than other countries in the region and the world, with no fatalities.

Vietnam should share its experience with the international community, he suggested./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
