Hanoi (VNA) - A cold spell hit Hanoi and northern Vietnam on January 8,plunging temperatures by as much as 10 degrees.
Thefreezing conditons are expected to last for about a week.
Accordingto the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the averagetemperature in Red River Delta delta, including Hanoi, will not rise above 10to 12 degrees.
Inmountain areas, temperatures will drop even further. Drizzle accompanying thecold change all over the northern region is likely to turn to ice in highplaces.
