Citizens rescued from forced labour in Cambodia return home

The Vietnamese nationals were rescued by Cambodian authorities, in coordinationwith the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, during crackdowns on casinos andillegal establishments in the country.
Theborder gate coordinated with Tay Ninh provincial police to verify the returnedcitizens’ identification, and then allowed them to return home.
Among the 78 citizens, one was found to be on the international wanted list forsmuggling under a decision issued by Ho Chi Minh City police more than 9 yearsago. The suspect had been handed over to the HCM City police.
Earlier on September 21, Tay Ninh also received 92 Vietnamesecitizens from Cambodia./.
The Foreign Ministry and Vietnam’s representative agencies in Cambodia have coordinated with the two countries’ authorities to safely repatriate over 600 citizens who had been tricked or lured to Cambodia for illegal work so far.
Vietnam and Cambodia have saved over 1,000 Vietnamese citizens who have been tricked to work illegally in Cambodia, said Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang during a regular press conference in Hanoi on September 22.
Border guards at My Quy Tay Border Gate in the Mekong Delta province of Long An province’s Duc Hue district have received 34 Vietnamese citizens returning from Cambodia.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
