Hanoi (VNA) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged the Governmentsof Bangladesh and Myanmar resolve the Rohingya crisis through bilateralnegotiations instead of an international initiative.
The international community should not complicate the situation, Wang said in apress briefing on November 18 at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, addingthat actions in the United Nations Security Council must helpBangladesh-Myanmar bilateral cooperation to resolve the problem peacefully.
China supports resolving the crisis peacefully and bilaterally with mutualconsultation between Bangladesh and Myanmar, he said and described thesituation complex, which needs a comprehensive situation.
Economic development of Rakhine State is needed. China is ready to help, Wangsaid.
Violence flared up in Rakhine state since gunmen attacked 24 police posts andbroke into a military outpost in Rakhine on August 25.
