China, Cambodia boost comprehensive cooperation

Chinese and Cambodian leaders have agreed to enhance the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

The consensus was reached by ChinesePremier Le Keqiang held talks with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Hor Namhong during their talks in Zhongnanhai onJanuary 2 as part of the latter’s visit to China to attend the firstmeeting of the China-Cambodia Inter-governmental Coordination Committeeheld in the same day.

The host affirmed that theChinese Government always pursues friendship policies with Cambodiaand will continue to assist the country in developing its economy andfurther promoting its bigger role in regional and international affairs.

He said the success of the meeting created a new momentum for the two sides to deepen their bilateral ties.

He expressed his hope that the two countries will continue wellimplementing the action plan on bilateral comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership, with focus on major fields, while makingtheir fine political ties a driving force for cooperation.

Le also stressed that through its intensive and comprehensive reforms,China will further expand external relations and make every effortto improve the quality and effectiveness of economic growth, thus makingmore contributions to the global economic growth.

For his part, Cambodian Deputy PM Hor Namhong said China’sdevelopment not only brings prosperity to itself but also to peace anddevelopment in the region.

He thanked the ChineseGovernment for its great support for Cambodia, affirming that hisGovernment always attaches importance to developing relations withChina.-VNA
