More than 120 guests, mostlyJapanese entrepreneurs, attended the event in Shinjuku ward, Tokyo.
The embassy handed over 6 millionJPY, which was raised from the 41st Asia-Pacific Ladies FriendshipSociety (ALFS) Charity Bazaar in Tokyo on April 19, to the Japan InternationalFriendship Association (JIFA).
JIFA will later transfer the sumto the central province of Ha Tinh to help build clean water supply systems in VuongLoc kindergarten in Can Loc district and Huong Long elementary school in HuongKhe district.
Speaking at the event, VietnameseAmbassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed his thanks to the ALFS, JIFA,Tokyo women’s club and Vietnam Airlines for their contributions.
Participants enjoyed performancesby well-known Japanese jazz artist Keiko Borjesson, a show of traditional longdresses, and traditional Vietnamese food.-VNA
Young music talents from high schools in Coventry, the UK, performed at a charity concert on March 25 to raise funds for several projects being implemented in Vietnam by the UK NGO Medical and Scientific Aid for Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia (MSAVLC).
