Cassava exports to RoK sharply rise

Vietnam’s exports of cassava and products made from cassava to the Republic of Korea (RoK) hit nearly 82,000 tonnes worth 24 million USD in the first 10 months of 2018, up 18.9 percent in volume and 52.6 percent in value against the same period last year.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s exports of cassava and products made from cassavato the Republic of Korea (RoK) hit nearly 82,000 tonnes worth 24 million USD inthe first 10 months of 2018, up 18.9 percent in volume and 52.6 percent invalue against the same period last year.

Accordingto the General Department of Customs, in October alone, exports of cassava andproducts from cassava to the Asian country recorded surges of 467 percent involume and nearly 374 percent in value compared to the previous month.

Statisticsfrom the customs agency show Vietnam exported 182,000 tonnes of cassava withtotal value of nearly 86.5 million USD in the month, up 21.2 percent in volumeand 32.5 percent in value compared to September.

The average export price was at 292.2 USD per tonne, 15.5 percent higher thanthat of 2017.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
