Canadian friends appreciate Vietnam communist party’s leadership

Ottawa (VNA) – Philip Fernandez, a member of the Canada-Vietnam FriendshipSociety (CVFS) and the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) (CPCML), has affirmed theindispensible leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in the country’sachievements.
⭕ He made thestatement in a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on thesidelines of a workshop held by the CVFS in Toronto on February 1 on theoccasion of the 90th founding anniversary of the CPV (February 3,1930).
Vietnam’s increasing prestige and position in the international arena demonstrate the political strength and ideology of the CPV, as well as its ingenious ability to seek ways to deal with the current complicated international situation,he said. ThatVietnam became a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Councilfor 2020-2021 with an almost absolute number of votes has proved the trust of theinternational community in the CPV, he added.
Louis Lang,a representative from the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) (CPCML), said the workshop, themed “CommunistParty of Vietnam: 90 years of accomplishments and international solidarity,” createdan opportunity to learn about the role of the CPV in the modern society and thegathering of people to solve social matters.
❀ He said thepeople-to-people relations between Vietnam and Canada have been reinforced throughrespective visits, particularly the remarkable contributions of Vietnamesestudents in Canada.
Participantsat the workshop expressed their impression and admiration when seeing documentshighlighting the glorious milestones of the Vietnamese nation such as the birth ofthe CPV, the successful August Revolution 1945, and the Dien Bien Phu Victoryin 1954. Portraits of late President Ho Chi Minh by Canadian artists Jean-MauriceGélinas and Guy Lapierre were put on display at the event. Worksfeaturing the Great Spring Victory of 1975 and the Dien Bien Phu Victory in1954 were also showcased to help Canadian friends understand better about theleadership role of the CPV in the cause of national liberation, reunification,building and defence./.
