Can Tho has been ranked the 10th most beautiful canal city in the world in a list drawn up by the Mysterious World website.
"Waterways have played a crucial role in transportation throughout the history," the site says.
"Until today cities like Venice, Birmingham and Giethoorn are globally known for their stunning canal system.
"The large Vietnamese city of Can Tho is located in the Mekong Delta in the centre of a network of canals and rivers. The city's total waterway length is 1,157km. The Hau River, the biggest branch of the Mekong River, runs along the north of the city."
It also mentions floating markets, the main attraction of the city.
"Touring floating markets is the best way to know about local goods and the cultural aspects of the city."
