Soc Trang (VNA) – A high-ranking delegation from the SolidarityFront for the Development of Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) National Council ledby its Vice President and Secretary General Nhem Valy paid a working visit tothe Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on December 7.
Welcoming thedelegation, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man sharedthat with the resolve and joint efforts of the local Party Committee, army andpeople, the locality has created favourable conditions for locals to invest indeveloping production and business, and carried out policies to preserve andpromote traditional culture of the Khmer ethnic group, and maintain thenational great unity.
Soc Trang oftenwelcomes working delegations of Cambodia, including those from Kep province,Man said, hoping that the SFDCM National Council will continue acting as abridge nurturing the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as betweenSoc Trang and Kep.
At the workingsession, leading officials from Soc Trang’s departments and Vietnam FatherlandFront – provincial chapter also informed the delegation of front and massmobilisation works for Khmer ethnic minorities in the locality.
Nhem Valy affirmedthat his visit aims to consolidate and tighten friendship between the twocountries.
Later on the same day,the delegation visited the provincial Association for Solidarity of PatrioticBuddhist Monks, during which Nhem Valy appreciated the association’scontributions to Buddhism.
He voiced his hopethat the two countries’ Buddhist organisations will have closer friendship inthe time ahead.-VNA
