Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia and China armies on December 15commenced a joint military drill at the Cambodian Royal Army Institute in KampongSpeu province.
The nine-day drill, titled “Golden Dragon 2016”, brought together a total of377 personnel, including 97 troops from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA)and 280 from the Cambodian Royal Armed Forces.
The exercise aims to exchange experiences on disaster relief, humanitarian aidand counter-terrorism, thus consolidating and boosting relations between thetwo countries’ armies.
China is Cambodia’s largest provider of military aid.-VNA
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of 31 bilateral agreements in Phnom Penh on October 13.
