Ca Mau (VNA) – Prolonged heat hasput all forest areas in the southern province of Ca Mau in a high fire alert.
According to head of the province’s forestmanagement department Le Van Hai, among nearly 45,000 hectares of driedforests, more than 11,000 hectares are on red alert for fires.
The provincial steering committee for forestprotection and development asked departments, local authorities, forest ownersand individuals to implement precautions against fire.
For high-risk areas, rangers must bemobilised for active duty around-the-clock during the dry season to tackle firesquickly.
Meanwhile, all production and businessactivities on forest land must follow fire fighting and prevention regulations.
Communications should also be intensified toraise public awareness of fire prevention.-VNA
The five Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Lam Dong are actively taking measures on forest fire prevention in dry season.
