Ca Mau dried shrimp listed in top 10 specialties of Vietnam

The Organisation of Vietnam Records has announced dried shrimp made in the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau among 10 famous Vietnamese specialities in 2017.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Organisation of Vietnam Records (VietKings) has announced dried shrimp madein the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau among 10 famous Vietnamese specialitiesin 2017.

Dried shrimp is mostly produced in theprovince’s coastal districts, such as Ngoc Hien and Tran Van Thoi, where localshave their own unique recipe. The well-known specialty is currently sold ataround 900,000 – 1,200,000 VND (39.6 -57.2 USD) per kilogramme.

Nine other specialities on the list includeShan Tuyet tea from Suoi Giang, Yen Bai; banhdau xanh (green bean cake) from Hai Duong; me xung (chewy sesame peanut candy) from Thua Thien-Hue, Ly Songarlic from Quang Ngai, Bau Da wine from Binh Dinh, salangane nest from KhanhHoa, Buon Ma Thuot coffee from Dak Lak, Ngoc Linh ginseng from Kon Tum andhoney from Gia Lai.-VNA
