Book on Vietnam-Egypt ties debuts in Arabic language

A book on the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam-Egypt friendship in the Arabic language was launched at a ceremony held at the Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt on May 16.

Cairo (VNA) – A book on the 55thanniversary of the Vietnam-Egypt friendship in the Arabic language was launchedat a ceremony held at the Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt on May 16.

The book is the first of its kind writtenby an Egyptian author on the two countries’ relations.

Speaking at the ceremony, VietnameseAmbassador to Egypt Tran Thanh Cong said it covers various fields, includingthe two nations’ politics, economy and culture.

Additionally, it records hallmarks of thebilateral relations and stated future cooperation prospects in many spheresafter 55 years of the establishment and development of the diplomatic ties.

Also included in the book are assessmentsand sentiments of Egyptian politicians and experts towards the Vietnam-Egyptties and President Ho Chi Minh.

The diplomat added that the publicationproved efforts of author Refat Khaled, in contributing to the substantivedevelopment of the bilateral relations.

The 200-page book was mainly written inArabic, along with some writings of Egyptian scholars in English, reflectingpractical results of the people-to-people exchanges between the two countriesover the time.

The book also touched upon the journey ofPresident Ho Chi Minh in Egypt and the friendship between the late Vietnamese leaderand late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, which set the foundation forthe current bilateral ties.

For his part, author Khaled voiced his hopethat the book will bring people of the two nations closer and contribute to theEgypt-Vietnam relations in the time to come.-VNA
